◆◇◆◇◆ Tour Highlights ◆◇◆◇◆
◇Why is it called ''three shrines in east side of Japan''?
・The three shrines in the eastern part of the country were the second most popular pilgrimage in the Edo period (1603-1868), after the Ise pilgrimage. It was called ''Oise-misogi no sanja mairi'' (the custom for people from the Kanto and northward to visit the three shrines in the eastern part of Japan on their way home after visiting Ise Jingu Shrine).
Those shrines are the Kashima Jingu Shrine, the Katori Jingu Shrine, and the Ikisu Shrine, and are said to be the three most powerful spiritual spots in the Kanto region. If you connect the locations of the three shrines in the East with a line on a map, their positions form a triangle.
There are rumors that strange things happen in this triangle zone.
【1】Kashima Shrine
・This is the headquarters of the oldest shrine in the Kanto region. It is said to provide overall good fortune for work and life, and is famous for its prayers for victory.
【2】Katori Shrine
・Visit ''Sanbonsugi (three cedars),'' which is said to be one of the strongest spiritual forces in Chiba.
The cedars are hollow in the middle and are said to radiate a powerful power.
【3】Ikisu Shrine
・On either side of the torii gate are square wells that bring good luck!
On the right side is the Otoko-bin (male bottle) with a bottle shaped like a sake bottle, and on the left side is the Megame-bin (female bottle) from which fresh water gushes, making it a famous matchmaking spot.
