●日本清酒の起源を味わう●
室町時代、伽藍維持の財源確保のため、僧坊酒と呼ばれるお寺の酒造りが全国的に行われていました。正暦寺は広大な寺領を持っており、その維持のために酒造りが盛んに行われ、日本最大の酒造地でした。正暦寺ではお酒を長期保存するため、酒造技術が確立したといわれており、日本清酒発祥の地として知られています。
古来、全国の神社で御神酒として酒造りが行われていましたが、現代まで酒造りを続けているのは春日大社だけです。毎年2月上旬～3月上旬にかけ、3月13日の例大祭「春日祭」に供える御神酒が、奈良豊澤酒造の杜氏により造られています。
奈良時代、光仁天皇が大安寺で切った竹で温めた酒を飲み、長生きしたという故事に由来し、大安寺では毎年1月23日には伝統行事「癌封じ笹酒祭り」が行われます。焚き火で温められた笹酒（ささざけ）が振る舞われる、千年以上続く奈良の冬の風物詩です。

静岡県出身。合同会社榧 代表。ホトケ女史。山添村観光協会コーディネーター(奈良県)。
和歌山大学専門職大学院 観光学研究科 卒業。
2014年に奈良が好きすぎて東京から移住、2022年より奈良市と山添村の二拠点生活スタート。
デザイナー、イラストレーター、ツアーガイド、イベントプロデュースなど、奈良や社寺にまつわる活動を中心とする。

菩提山正暦寺
平安時代中期に在位した一条天皇の発願により、藤原兼家の子・兼俊によって創建された古刹。菩提山真言宗の大本山。かつては伽藍が並び建つ大寺でしたが現在は福寿院客殿を残すのみ。日本清酒発祥の地として知られ、近代の酒造りの基礎となる技術が確立されたといわれています。今となっては当時のような大規模な酒造りは行われていませんが、毎年1月に境内で酒母の仕込みが行われ、できあがった清酒は、正暦寺福寿院で販売され評判を呼んでいます。年に3回、国指定重要文化財の本尊薬師如来倚像が一般公開されます。
大安寺
聖徳太子の遺言により建立されたと伝わる『大安寺』は南都七大寺のひとつです。弘法大師空海が多大な影響を受けた勤操大徳をはじめ多くの名僧ゆかりの寺院でもあります。天平の息吹を伝える貴重な仏像も多く伝わる日本最古の国立寺院の伽藍や文化財も魅力です。
癌封じと無病息災を祈願し、焚き火で温められた笹酒（ささざけ）が振る舞われる「癌封じ笹酒祭り」は千年以上続く奈良の冬の風物詩です。
奈良豊澤酒造
明治以来創業157年。奈良を代表する老舗酒造会社のひとつ。創業以来の手造りに徹した酒造りを行っています。酒造りの機械化が進む中、量産ではなく品質向上のための機械化だけを行い、熟練の蔵人による手造りの酒造りにこだわってきました。生産する酒の8割が純米酒以上の「特定名称酒」で占められています。日本酒の品質を最も左右すると言われる麹もその麹造りを全て手作業で行っています。

８１段の階段がございます。石段は観世音菩薩の誓願の数にちなんだ３３段と、阿弥陀如来の誓願の数にちなんだ４８段、合計８１段になっています。この石段をすべて登りきることで、観世音菩薩と阿弥陀如来のご加護を受けられるとされています。歩きやすい服装、履きなれた靴でのご参加をお勧めします。
